MAGEC Tracker
Optimize energy production by keeping your solar panels aligned with the sun. Paired with your drive system, the MAGEC solar tracker provides a complete control and positioning solution. This eliminates the need for complex communication programming between sensors, drives, and controls. MAGEC is a self-contained system with a simple and direct output: direction and angle of movement required to Find the Sun.
Solar tracking options to fit your application.
The Heliocline Magec tracker is the simple and smart solar panel guidance system.
Heliocline inclinometers provide your tracking system with tilt position relative to Earth’s gravity.
Heliocline encoders locate your solar panel by determining rotation around an axis, such as the panel pivot point.
Heliocline Tracking Feedback Devices
If you do not require the full guidance system of the MAGEC tracker, Heliocline offers a variety of sensors for use in solar tracking systems. These can be used independently or combined in various formats to capture single- or multi-axis motion data, whether for a single panel, a large array, or even mobile systems. Regardless of drive design or panel racking type, there is a Heliocline sensor to help you Find the Sun.
Inclinometers
An inclinometer uses earth’s gravity to establish a vertical reference and measures the tilt angle away from this line. This allows easy mechanical implementation, as well as a straightforward comparison to the sun’s angle of elevation. An inclinometer is attached parallel to the face of the panel or array, at any convenient location on the moveable structure. No reference to the stationary supports is needed.
Encoders
Rotary encoders measure rotation around an axis. They can be mounted at the pivot point of the panel or array itself, or some other rotating part of the drive system. Motion is detected either directly through a shaft, or by a contactless magnetic system.
- Absolute encoders provide specific position data for every point in their rotation. Once set up they can provide instant angle position without the need for a zero point, even after losing power.
- Incremental encoders provide only change-of-position data and require a “home” or “index” position to determine orientation. This is usually established by locating the system’s end of travel.
About
Heliocline is an innovative family of devices from Joral, LLC. Located in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Joral is an established manufacturer of encoders, inclinometers, and linear position sensors, including zero-power sensors that continue working while the machine or application is powered down. Specializing in capturing movement in creative new ways, Joral is known for its patented non-contact encoder technology with an IP69K rating capable of withstanding the harshest environments.
